Customers of Atlantic Shipping have been informed that in December, the National Assembly of Cape Verde gave its approval to a government proposal that will result in a reduction of 25% in the prices of small package dispatches that are sent from people living in the diaspora to family members living on the islands.
On January 1st, 2023, the proposal —which was part of the State Budget for 2023 —went into effect.st Previously, shipping a drum would have cost 4000$00 Cape Verde Escudos (CVE); today the cost is only 3000$00 CVE.
It must be noted this reduction in shipping costs is applicable only to small packages with a custom value of up to 100.000$00 CVE, therefore, commercial cargo is not included.
Atlantic Shipping applauds the government and deputies for making this decision, which acknolwdges the significant of diaspora's contribution to the country's development.
A $10 (ten dollar) reduction will be applied to the freight of drums delivered to Atlantic Shipping warehouses between March 20th and April 10th as part of our company's contribution to the collective effort to assist our fellow residents. Hence, during this timespan, the drum shipping will cost $70.It also states that deadline for delivering the cargo for the next trip is the 17th of April, and that the departure date for the ship is the 30th of April.
